Winter Olympics, here we come!

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Well, we said that Ella would be in training early — not for the U.S. Olympic ski team, but the ski JUMPING team. Who knew that a 4 and a half month old had this kind of leg strength?!!

…by the way, there’s an added bonus to this post: Just click on the photo to see the video! Will the fun never end in the Myler-Boeckmann household?

It’s cold out there.

Ella's wooly hat (1-19-07)

Yeah, the weather has been gloomy and cold lately, but Ella doesn’t mind.  Here she is with her warm and cozy winter hat, complete with ears.  She’s our little polar bear, and apparently, she even likes wearing this hat in the house, too. (Well, not really.  We were about to be on our way out the door.)

Ella does have a snowsuit, too, but it’s not likely that she’ll be out building snowmen anytime soon.  But the process of acclimation to the cold will have to start soon, if she’s going to be an olympic skier someday!

New Toys

Yep, another excuse to take lots of photos of Ella.  The old Canon was acting up, so this photo was taken with our new Fuji.  It’s 6 Megapixel versus the 4 from the old camera, but the real bonus is the 5x optical zoom and the fact that the LCD screen is about as big as the photo you see here!  Well, not really, but it just seems like it compared to the old one.

Jolly Jumper

This photo also features Ella’s new favorite toy, the Fisher Price “Gymtastics Jumperoo” or as Katie likes to call it, the Jolly Jumper.  I guess that’s what they called it in the good old days, when Katie watched Drew bouncing like mad in a doorway.  Thank God for the advancement of the free standing version, because the only good doorway we could use would be by the back door — at the top of the stairs (not so good).  [Check back later for a video with the great sounds that emanate from this contraption.]
