Ella visited the Macy’s store downtown and saw the excellent Christmas displays. Ella was excited to follow the story that was presented there — the next photo shows her reaction to the line: “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!”

So this is the guy?

santa

We didn’t know exactly what to expect when Ella finally met Santa Claus. It appears that she is less than impressed. Oh well, it could have been a screaming-tantrum-inducing experience, and it definitely wasn’t. Maybe the half-hour that we spent waiting for him built her expectations up too high. At least there will be several more opportunities in the future to enjoy this fun yearly event…

Ella’s 1st Snow Day

snow0Ella much prefers playing in the snow to being cooped up inside all weekend.  Just take a look at the video (click the photo above to see the video on myspace — it takes a while to load, because it’s a 90 second clip).

Check out these other great screen captures from the video…

Ella was not very fond of being crammed into her purple snow suit and gloves, but once she got outside, she was happy that she was still warm and toasty beneath all the layers.

And of course, we had to include one with Cassie — she likes her snow outfit, too.

The Return of “Bucket-Head”

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

OK, it’s not really a bucket, but Ella’s tupperware fascination sometimes makes for some great comedy.  Just take a look at Ella’s latest favorite accessory.

We have a feeling that the tendency for this activity is passed down through the Myler genes.  How do we know?  Just take a look at a very young Uncle Drew, who is known to Ella as simply “Du”:

Sure, the picture is a grainy screen capture from an old home movie converted to DVD.  But that’s Uncle Du, and that’s a giant spaghetti pot on his noggin.  It’s interesting to note that Drew opted for the “who turned out the lights?” version of this activity (in the tradition of Rick Moranis in the movie “Ghostbusters”).  At least Ella can see through her tupperware!  We always knew that she was a smart one.  But then again, Drew is pretty bright, too, so maybe tupperware wasn’t an option back then. (?)
